Product Description carrat-down

Our Make it Strong liquid fertiliser is an autumn/winter feed designed to lock in nutrients and block out any unwelcome diseases during the cooler months, helping keep your lawn in top shape over the winter.

This fast-acting and long-lasting liquid lawn feed ensures your grass has the strength to overcome the harsh weather of the cold winter months. Developed to preserve the health and greenness of your lawn, this fertiliser also builds up its resilience to winter-borne diseases.

Make it Strong liquid fertiliser contains nitrogen and a balance of potassium and phosphate to strengthen your lawn over winter. Feeding your lawn with potassium enhances its ability to resist environmental stresses, particularly winter diseases like Red Thread and Fusarium Patch (Snow Mould). Phosphate creates stronger grass blades and helps your lawn to maintain its lush and healthy, and vibrant green appearance. This feed also includes nitrogen which works with potassium and phosphate to ensure your grass remains strong and resilient against whatever winter weather throws its way!

To achieve the best results after using, we recommend you apply this product during the autumn months, from September until the end of October or the start of November, depending on your location in the UK and the temperatures.

This Make it Strong liquid fertiliser is intended to be used on already-established lawns and will feed your grass to prepare it for the coming winter months.

As well as this strengthening lawn feed, we have our Make it Grow liquid lawn fertiliser, which gives your grass a boost of nutrients to enhance its growth. Our Make it Green liquid fertiliser enhances your lawn's greenness and vibrancy and instantly boosts your lawn's health!

  • Nitrogen (N) gives your lawn its lush green colouring and enhances its growth for fast establishment
  • Phosphate (P) helps build up the grass’s root system and improves its root-to-soil contact
  • Potassium (K) strengthens your grass to build immunity and tolerance to grass diseases and drought

Key Benefits:

  • Strengthening winter liquid lawn fertiliser/feed
  • Protects against the winter cold/frost and common lawn diseases
  • Autumn/winter all-rounder lawn fertiliser
  • Nutrient-rich liquid feed to preserve the health of your lawn until spring
  • Locks in lawn nutrition until the end of winter
  • To use on already-established lawns

Do I need to keep my pets away after feeding my lawn?

Technically, letting your pets back on your grass is fine after applying our liquid fertiliser. However, we recommend keeping pets (and people) off your lawn for 24 hours after using the liquid feed to ensure it feeds your grass evenly and undisturbed.

We recommend applying on cooler evenings or overcast days. For more information on all things fertiliser, read our Fertiliser FAQs.

Product Questions

Should the fertiliser be used before or after scarifying the lawn?
Question by: Liz Green on 2 Oct 2023, 09:15
Thank you for your question. We recommend fertilising after scarifying your lawn.
Answer by: Roisin McCann (Admin) on 4 Oct 2023, 16:05
Hi there. We over-seeded our garden with your clay master lawn seed in the end of September. We should have an established lawn by the 2nd week of November, should we still fertilise it using this product? Or would it be more appropriate to use the granule fertiliser?
Thank you.
Question by: LC on 2 Oct 2023, 13:26
I would recommend going with the liquid option - Make it Strong due to the time of year. With the granular fertilisers, there will be some degree of watering and temperatures are usually much cooler by November, which can make it difficult for the product to dissolve. So for a quick application, I would suggest the liquid fertiliser.
Answer by: Roisin McCann (Admin) on 4 Oct 2023, 16:08
Hi, how long should a newly sown lawn be left before applying fertiliser such as Make It Strong?
Thanks for any help
Question by: Ken on 10 Oct 2023, 13:03
You can apply the fertiliser once the lawn is established, which is usually around 6-8 weeks after sowing
Answer by: Roisin McCann (Admin) on 10 Oct 2023, 13:12
My lawn was newly seeded during late spring-would it be appropriate to use your “make it strong fertiliser” in the Autumn? Thankyou
Question by: William lewis on 21 Aug 2023, 13:18
Thank you for your question.

Yes, you can use Make It Strong on new lawns. It will help strengthen the new lawn and improve its resilience to frosts and any winter diseases.
Answer by: Roisin McCann (Admin) on 21 Aug 2023, 14:18
Is this feed safe for pets?
Question by: Claire on 22 Aug 2023, 09:51
Thank you for your question. Yes, the liquid fertilisers are safe for pets and you don't have to keep them off the lawn after application. However, for best results and to allow for even penetration of the fertiliser, we do recommend keeping them of the lawn for 24 hours after application.
Answer by: Roisin McCann (Admin) on 6 Sept 2023, 10:53
Hi, Need to over-seed and patch repair the lawn plus fertilise for winter. Liquid fertiliser suggests doing Sept-October. When should I over-seed and fertilise? Thanks
Question by: Marek on 31 Aug 2023, 07:01
The grass sowing season is generally from March - September but you can confidently sow grass seed when temperatures are 8-10 degrees and above consistently for at least two weeks with no adverse weather conditions forecast. Always consult a two week forecast prior to sowing. Our liquid fertilisers are all fast acting and will provide nutrients for up to six weeks.
