Usage Guide carrat-down

Overseeding an existing lawn

Remove any dead grass, weeds or moss by scarifying / raking the area
Rake the area enough so that the soil is loose and not compact
Allow the seedbed to cultivate for 10-14 days to encourage any weeds to come to the surface, then remove any weeds that appear by hand
Sow the seed at our recommended rate of 35g per m2, by using a seed spreader or your hand
Rake the seed in after sowing so that the seed is in amongst the soil
Firm down by foot or by using a roller to improve seed to soil contact
Water the just-sown seed well

Sowing a new lawn

Dig the soil over to a depth of 20-25cm
Remove weeds by hand or use a weed killer
Add top soil if you believe the soil to be poor quality or unlevel
Rake the area to get a level seedbed
Allow the seedbed to cultivate for 10-14 days to encourage any weeds to come to the surface, then remove any weeds that appear by hand

what is the best mix you have for a quality lawn

Hi Patrick, if you want to drop us an email at [email protected] and tell us a bit more about your garden we can make a few recommendations.

I want to buy grass seed for a meadow ( I got wild flowers seeds already). I want 20kg bags - which grass seed do I want?
Thank You
Question by: Martyn Richards on 5 May 2023, 12:13
Hi, we would normally recommend trying to avoid sowing wildflowers alongside standard grasses as this has varying degrees of success. The existing grass or newly seeded grass would choke out the wildflower seeds and would eventually take over. Most wildflower mixes will contain some meadow grasses, these grasses are carefully selected to help create a sustainable habitat for wildlife and to prevent weeds growing as the grass grows up and creates a nursery for the wildflowers.

lawns a bit sparce and tends to get weeds growing how do i revitalize to past glory .
Question by: steve on 9 May 2022, 20:30
Hi Steve, thank you for your question.

I would recommend our Feed, Weed and Moss Killer product to help treat your weeds.

Our FWM works over the course of two weeks to eradicate weeds and moss - where it is particularly prevalent, patches will appear, and these will need to be seeded. This product will also feed your lawn and make any existing grass very green and lush.

It is a granular fertiliser and needs to be watered in after application. After two weeks have passed, and after ensuring the granules are fully dissolved, you could overseed your lawn with a grass mix like our All Rounder Grass Seed!
