Hello, I have a 60m2 lawn. Your calculator recommends 2kg to treat my lawn. Meaning it would take me 10 years to use the product.
What would you recommend I do to treat my lawn over winter?
Question by: Luke Bell on 30 Sept 2021, 11:35
Hi Luke, we would recommend one of our Autumn/Winter fertilisers. SLOW RELEASE: Autumn/Winter Fertiliser will harden the lawn and provide the ultimate protection during the colder months. It gives four months of continuous feed, and although it is less intensive than a quick release it is a more balanced feed. This will take you through to the Spring when you would then consider our Spring/Summer range. This is a granular product and will need watering until fully dissolved. Our fertiliser will keep for up to four years if stored in a cool dry place.

I applied quick release pre seed fertiliser before overseeding my lawn last month. I’ve since seeded and the lawn looks great.

However should I apply a slow release fertiliser like the autumn/winter fertiliser during the winter months or would the pressed that was applied in September be ok?

Btw I also have around 7kg left of the pre-seed fertiliser left. Can this only be applied pre-seeding or can it applied when not pre-seeding?
Question by: Dipal on 13 Oct 2021, 13:43
Hi, we would recommend waiting until the lawn is fully established before applying another fertiliser. This can take up to 8 weeks. If there is still time after the 8 weeks then we would recommend applying the SLOW RELEASE: Autumn/Winter Fertiliser. It will harden the new lawn and provide the ultimate protection during the colder months. It gives four months of continuous feed, and although it is less intensive than a quick release it is a more balanced feed. This will take you through to the Spring. The Pre Seed fertiliser can be reapplied in the Spring to give the garden boost after the colder weather, it is rich in nitrogen so will help improve the appearance and colour of the grass. Also, our fertiliser will keep for up to four years if stored in a cool dry place.

Hi,

Could this be used at the start of August and then again used at the end of November taking it up to April, where I would them put down the slow release spring/summer fertiliser?

Thanks.
Question by: Daniel on 22 Oct 2021, 06:52
Hi, depending on temperatures August it is usually a little early but that is not to say it can't be applied. Normally we would say around September/October taking you into early Spring where you could then apply the SLOW RELEASE: Spring Summer Fertiliser.

Hello, I had new turf laid in middle of September it has knitted well and I wanted to ensure I protect it in the winter. Reading your reviews most Autumn/winter fertilisers say Aug-October. Is there something you would receive after this time (it’s nearly November) also what would you recommend for new lawns? Thank you for your help
Question by: Lynne on 27 Oct 2021, 06:58
Hi Lynne, there is still some time to apply the Autumn/Winter fertilisers, ideally you want to get it down before the frosts set in and temperatures so far this season have been quite mild. It can be used on your new lawn to help provide the ultimate protection during the colder months. It gives four months of continuous feed, and although it is less intensive than a quick release it is a more balanced feed. This will take you through to the Spring when you would then consider our Spring/Summer range. This is a granular product and will need watering until fully dissolved.

I seeded a new lawn using your seed mixture for sandy soil in September of this year. It has grown well, never been cut. Can i use your slow release autumn/ winter fertiliser? This winter as it is still a young grass.
Question by: Michael Larkin on 9 Nov 2021, 09:48
Hi Michel, you can apply the Autumn/Winter fertiliser througout November if temperaturesa are mild enough and if the ground hasn't frozen
Answer by: Roisin McCann on 22 Nov 2021, 14:53
Obviously after the hot weather the lawn is very bare, even after using your seed and summer fertiliser. Just ordered the slow release winter fertiliser, do I need to use a scarifier before
fertilising for the winter?
Thank you
Question by: Alfred Smith on 15 Sept 2022, 16:53
Hi Alfred

Thanks for your question.

Not every lawn needs to be scarified, however if you think your lawn would benefit from this, it is fine to do so. It is best to scarify before applying the fertiliser. As this is a granular fertiliser, it needs to be watered after application to ensure it dissolves.

I recently purchased a bag of this, but realise I only need a small amount for the size of my lawn, so my question is how long will this keep as I think I have about 10 years worth, lol.
Question by: Catriona Wood on 1 Oct 2022, 13:02
