Hello. I had a new turf lawn laid two weeks ago (26th September) and no fertilizer was applied to the soil! Should and when do I apply an autumn feed? My lawn is establishing nicely and growing well as it has been more or less raining continuously since it was laid! Thank you. Take care. Linda
Question by: Linda Squires on 8 Oct 2020, 21:20
Hi Linda

We always recommend a seasonal feed however I would hold off on applying anything now. I would recommend that you wait until the lawn is more established, just another few weeks or so then apply a feed. The Autumn/Winter fertiliser will help harden the new sward protecting it from the colder weather and winter diseases. The OUICK RELEASE: Autumn/Winter Fertiliser will keep the lawn protected for up to six weeks.

Hello,
Can this be applied every 6 weeks starting now (mid October) through to January/February time?
Thank you
Question by: Andrew Salmons on 24 Oct 2021, 11:12
Hi Andrew, whilst you can apply this product every 6 weeks it will be more difficult later in the season when the temperature drops and the ground freezes. You may wish to consider the SLOW RELEASE option. This is is an Autumn Winter fertilsier laso and will provide protection againt the colder weather. It releases nurients at a more controlled rate and will last up to 16 weeks.

My lawn has been overrun by mushrooms and I am told nitrogen-rich fertilizer can help eliminate this problem. Please advise.
Question by: Rhona Chrystal on 24 Oct 2021, 16:11
Hi, if you wish to apply a nitrogen rich fertiliser then you would be best with the QUICK RELEASE: Spring Summer Fertiliser. This is an intensive nitrogen rich fertiliser which will work for up to 6 weeks.

My lawn is in a really bad state, and will need scarifing and overseeding. Should i do this at the same time as seeding? I dont want to waste the 'goodness' on dead grass thatch which is going to get pulled up when scarified . . .
Question by: Andy on 15 Aug 2022, 11:56
Hi Andy, thank you for your question. I would recommend scarifying, weeding, and mowing your lawn 3-4 days before applying the fertiliser. You can check out our full step by step guide on the best way to fertilise your lawn here: https://thegrasspeople.com/how-to-fertilise-a-lawn

20kg is far more than I need, what's the shelf life after the bag is opened. Will I be able to use it again the following year?
Question by: Jon on 2 Jul 2023, 20:03
Thank you for your question.

Yes, you can continue to use the fertiliser each year. Our fertiliser will keep for up to four years if stored in a cool dry place.

Hi, I prepared the soil according to the instructions and left it a week then put down the fertiliser and raked over it, i have watered it thoroughly and it is not dissolving at all it is still looks like bits of sand, I have now watered it 5 times. What should I do? I wanted to sow the seed asap but can’t as it won’t dissolve. (I even put some in some water to see if it dissolved and it hasn’t)
Thanks
Question by: Amy on 6 Jul 2023, 17:48
Hi, thank you for your question. It can take a few days of watering for the granules to dissolve. One most of the granules have dissolved, it is safe to sow the seed. Any remaining granules will dissolve when the seeds are watered.
