Can I blend Clover All Over Micro Clover Seed with any lawn grass seed mix?

Yes, Clover All Over can be blended with any of our grass seed mixes. You simply need to sow the clover as 5% of the mix - this means, for example, if you have a 10kg bag of grass seed, you should add 500g of clover seed.

How would sowing micro clover with grass seed affect the sowing rates

Sowing 100% clover with grass seed requires 5% of the mix to be clover – this doesn’t sound like a lot, but clover seeds are tiny and hardy and thrive well once they get going! As for sowing with wildflowers, it depends on how much of the wildflower mix is clover already, but the ratio should be the same.

When to sow micro clover?

Micro clover is a hardy plant that can be sown and grown any time in spring, summer and autumn - just be sure no heavy rainfall or heatwaves are forecast in your area before sowing. Once you have sown your clover seed, keep the area well-watered for the first six weeks. This will assist the seed’s germination and prevent the seeds from drying. Your micro clover will be fully established around the 6 to 8-week mark and is mainly self-sufficient at this stage. Unless you want to mow it so it’s not as tall.

How big or tall does micro clover grow?

Clover will grow naturally to around 4-6 inches tall. If you prefer a neater and lower-growing clover carpet look across your lawn, you can encourage clover to grow smaller by mowing more often.

Will micro clover grow in shade?

Clover grows well in shaded areas of your garden since it’s commonly found on the woodland floor beneath the forest canopy. However, like most plants, it will grow better if it receives sunlight throughout the day. So don’t be surprised to see it grow better in areas of your lawn basked in sunlight for a few hours each day.
