Product Description

QUICK RELEASE: Pre – Seed boosts soil for fast establishment of new lawns and seeded areas, accelerating growth over the course of 6 weeks. QUICK RELEASE: Pre-Seed is a phosphate-rich fertiliser that provides your seedbed with the best foundation for establishing new seedlings. Apply this fertiliser before, during or straight after seeding. Once this fertiliser is watered in it will quickly disperse nutrients throughout the soil. This fertiliser also contains potassium which helps new seedlings fight foliar disease such as pythium diseases.

Please note this fertiliser can scorch your grass blades, so remember to water it off or apply just before the rain is due. Wear gloves when using this fertiliser to protect your hands from the chemicals that are in the fertiliser granules. Avoid application during very hot periods. Usage Guide

How to Use this Product

This is a granular fertiliser that can be applied by hand (when wearing a glove) or by using a handheld or rotary spreader. If you are using a handheld or rotary setter, please check with the manufacturer of your spreader for the appropriate setting. After spreading your fertiliser, make sure to water it in. Not watering your fertiliser in can potentially scorch existing grass or delay the benefits of the fertiliser.

If after watering the fertiliser does not disappear and dissolve off the surface, water until you cannot see the granules.

You can apply this fertiliser any time you plan to overseed or sow a new lawn, recommended sowing times are March - September. For a general lawn feed that promotes greeness, you may wish to consider our Slow Release: Spring / Summer or Quick Release: Spring / Summer fertilisers.

Recommended Usage

Use	March to September
Spreading Rate	70g per m2
Watering	This fertiliser MUST be watered in - granules should not be visible after application.

Aftercare

Once the fertiliser is no longer visible on the surface, you can be sure that it is starting to take effect on your lawn. We recommend waiting 1 week – 10 days before planning to seed. If, after use, you have leftover fertiliser store in a sealed bag in a dry area for future use.

I am about to over seed my lawn as it is mainly dirt, I note you suggest this be applied when weather is warmer, would you recommend this or the spring/summer fast fertiliser for this time of year and application?

Hi David,
I would recommend our Slow Release: Spring / Summer fertiliser for an existing lawn, it is a balanced fertiliser that will last up to 4 months. If stored in a dry place, it can be used for years / every spring / summer as it doesn't have a 'sell by' date. Hope this helps

Hi, I am about to turf my garden - can i use this for pre-fertilising on top soil with turf or is this just for seeding? Also - given the 20KG bag is more than i need for my 120sq metres - can I use this as an initial fertiliser after the lawn has been laid and if so how much should I use and when is best to apply it so that i don't over fertilise my new lawn? - thanks

Hi Jake,
As we do not know how the turf will take, I would avoid using this fertiliser. Our fertiliser suits sowing or overseeding with seed. However, if your turf takes well and continues to grow after being laid, QUICK RELEASE: Spring / Summer would be more suitable.

Hi there
I only need 2kg of seed so a 20kg bag seems a lot. Can I use this as a general lawn fertiliser too so that I use the whole bag?

Hi John,
Our pre-seed is essentially a quick release fertiliser and does not have a sell by date and does not 'go off' as such. You can continue to use this product on your lawn for bursts of greenness / feed for years as long as it is stored in a dry place.

Hello!

I've been watering my lawn 1h a day for the last 3 days now and I think that more than 70% of the granules are still visible. It's not a huge area so watering for an hour is way more than I thought I would at first. Am I doing something wrong?

New lawn, 70g/sqm, using a spreader.

Hi Marius,

Sometimes it can take a few days for the fertiliser to dissolve. Just keep watering the granules in and if you don't see any change in another 4-5 days then get in touch with us again.

Hi Dave,

The recommended rate of sowing pre-seed fertiliser is 70grams per metre squared. This is a generous amount and really with any more, you would run the risk of scorching or damaging the grass.

Hi, I've just sown a new lawn, a mix of overseeding and new areas to be established. Before doing so I used the slow release summer fertilizer. Is it advised I should use this and can this go down on top?

Hi Samuel, if you have already applied a fertiliser such as Slow Release you shouldn't need to apply another - our slow release fertiliser offers 4 months coverage and this is adequate feed for a lawn. Hope this helps.
