Step 1: Understand the application rate and settings

Step 2: Preparing the spreader

Check the material to be applied is dry and free-flowing to ensure it will flow freely. Make sure your application rate and spread pattern settings are correct. 

Be careful not to pour material into the hopper when the application hole is open as it can lead to spillages or leaks that can damage the area.

Step 3: Walking patterns for the optimum application (for fertiliser only)

Single-pass fertiliser spreading: Use 1/2 of the suggested application rate on the back of your fertiliser bag, then move up and down the area, taking into account the spread width of the material being applied.

Maintaining your spreader

• Clean the hopper: Remove debris to maintain material flow. Close the application hole, clean with water and a cleaning solution, then drain and dry thoroughly to prevent residue build-up, particularly after salting.
• Grease pivot points and fittings: Apply grease to metal components to protect against rust and corrosion, extending your spreader's lifespan.

The gearbox is made of a high-quality composite material that resists rust, eliminating the need for greasing.
